Construction of the new Mental Health Inpatient Unit has commenced and the 1st stage of site preparation – excavation works, involving removal of 5,000m3 of soil from the worksite is nearly complete.
There will be a reduction in the number of trucks carrying soil from the work site. To help reduce pressure on the Hospital Road/Maunu Road intersection, staff cars departing from the secure carpark from 4pm onwards can begin to use the Maunu Road driveway again. Please note the use of this driveway is from 4pm only.
To confirm the traffic network system:
- One way traffic on the internal road, traffic flow will remain uphill from Maunu Road to Hospital Road.
- Staff will still access the secure carpark from Hospital Road and may now exit downhill to Maunu Road from 4pm only.
- The small stretch of internal roading between the Main Hospital and Norton House carpark will remain a two way road. Give way to oncoming traffic rules will apply. This will allow visitors to the Hospital to access the Norton House carpark from the Main Hospital in their vehicles.
This change will take affect from Monday 15 November 2010. Please give way to oncoming traffic.
